Paghar: Police have arrested a 38-year-old man from Uttar Pradesh for stealing cash and jewelry worth Rs 9.75 lakh by breaking into a house in Palghar, Maharashtra. information was given by a police officer on Wednesday.

Assistant Commissioner of Police, Zone II, Pankaj Shirsat told reporters that the accused, who had no criminal record, apparently got information about the theft in the house from a YouTube video. The accused, Dilshad Fayaz Shaikh, allegedly ransacked a house under the Achole police station area on June 5 and stole cash and jewelry worth Rs 9.75 lakh, the official said.

Police teams have been sent to Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh based on various leads including CCTV security cameras and intelligence inputs, he said.

The accused was nabbed from Uttar Pradesh on June 11 and stolen cash and jewelry were recovered from him, the official said. During interrogation, the accused told the police that he came to know about the theft in the house from a YouTube video, the officer said.
